Product Description

Jack's Magic Vinyl Liner Kit is an easy and effective way to prevent stains on your valuable vinyl liner, which can ruin the looks of your pool. Simply dissolve the mineral cartridge and spray it on the outside of your vinyl liner, while its Vinyl Liner Blue Stuff is added to the pool water periodically to keep your liner completely stain and discoloration-free. This will not only save you money by avoiding the need to purchase another liner, but will save you from the hours of sheer frustration that removing and replacing a liner can cause. Best of all, the Vinyl Liner Kit is made by Jack's Magic, allowing you to buy with confidence.

Directions

Existing Pool or New Liner:

  1. Place mineral cartridge in a 5 gallon bucket of water and allow ample to fully dissolve (10 to 15 minutes). Remove cartridge and stir water thoroughly.
  2. While the charge is dissolving, use a garden sprayer and spray the base/soil with sodium hypochlorite (bleach at 10 to 12%).
  3. Let the area dry completely.
  4. Rinse sprayer, then pour the solution from the bucket into the sprayer. Use a strainer to collect any residue that may clog the sprayer.
  5. Saturate the entire area that will be in contact with the liner.
  6. Install the liner as you normally would.

New Installation with Sand/Vermiculite Bottom:

  1. Place mineral cartridge in a 5 gallon bucket of water and allow ample time to fully dissolve (10 to 15 minutes). Remove cartridge and stir water thoroughly.
  2. Pour the solution from the bucket into a garden sprayer. Use a strainer to collect any residue that may clog the sprayer.
  3. Saturate the entire area that will be in contact with the liner.
  4. Complete the pool as you normally would.

Fill / Start-Up:

  1. Begin filling pool with water. Filtering of fill water is recommended in some areas.
  2. Add 3 oz. of The Vinyl Liner Blue Stuff into the puddle as pool is filling.
  3. Get the pool circulating as soon as possible. With the main drain open and the skimmer closed, the pool can be circulated safely when the water reaches the return lines.
  4. Once the pool is circulating adjust alkalinity to 80 ppm, pH to 7.0 to 7.2 and The Vinyl Liner Blue Stuff to 10 to 12 ppm. Leave pool circulating continuously for at least 72 hours, DO NOT add chlorine during the first 48 hours.
  5. Brush pool thoroughly using a nylon brush. Vacuuming the pool with a vinyl vac is also recommended.
  6. pH and total alkalinity must be monitored daily, to prevent scaling. Pool must be brushed frequently. Aggressive water chemistry does not reduce the need to brush.
  7. A vinyl vac head will allow more efficient cleaning and can be used immediately upon start-up.
  8. Do not use automatic chlorinator for 48 hours. Pool should be stable and thoroughly filtered before post-filter chlorination.
  9. In areas of soft water (low calcium hardness) raise calcium to manufacturer's suggested levels. Consult your owner's manual. DO NOT raise calcium level until pH and total alkalinity are stable (7.2 to 7.4 and 80 to 100 ppm).
  10. DO NOT CHLORINATE pool until pool has filtered and pH and total alkalinity are acceptable. Chlorine is highly reactive and can cause metals or minerals to precipitate (cloud water, scale and/or stain).
  11. DO NOT shock pool (super chlorinate) above 5 ppm for at least 10 days to give the pool time to filter and stabilize.
  12. To prevent staining or scaling The Vinyl Liner Blue Stuff levels must be maintained above 12 ppm. This level can be monitored with a Jack's Magic SeaQuest Test. Average start-up dosage is 1 quart per 10,000 gallons of pool water. To ensure the pool does not stain or scale, the homeowner needs to be advised to maintain sequest levels on a weekly or monthly basis (Some pools will require more Vinyl Liner Blue Stuff depending on heaters, well water, type of chlorination, etc.).
